What is the Value of AWD and 4WD Vehicles?

Here at UNITED IMPORTS, we understand that Four-Wheel Drive, often referred to as 4WD, and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) sound just about the same to most San Jose drivers. It's okay, if it does. After all, any deviance from the typical Front- or Rear-Wheel Drive systems commands attention. The easiest way to decide if your adventures require the use of 4WD or AWD is to know what type of weather and terrains that you will navigate.

If you plan to occasionally travel off-road on rocky, wet or tricky terrain, then 4WD may be an excellent option for you. With a 4WD system, you may even end up saving money on fuel since your vehicle will typically operate by distributing power to the rear wheels unless you require additional control.

AWD is best if you prefer a low-maintenance and most intuitive option. In other words, if you just want to hop in your vehicle and drive, this option may be a better fit. When you choose an AWD-equipped vehicle, you can enjoy tighter curves as the power comes easily to the front two wheels.

It's okay if you still don’t quite understand how these systems work or which one is best for your unique transit situation. It's our job to help you understand this information. Come by UNITED IMPORTS in San Jose, CA soon to further discuss your options.
